Did you know

London Stone was regarded as a kind of talisman for the City, and by 1742 it was considered an obstruction to traffic, so it was moved; it later sat on temporary display at the Museum of London while its building was redeveloped.

Local tip

You can see it through the glass case on the Cannon Street frontage, a two-minute stop while passing. A plaque beside it explains the stone's history.
