Did you know

The conservatory was built in the late 1970s specifically to disguise the fly tower needed for the theatre stage below, turning a piece of structural necessity into a 23,000-square-foot indoor jungle with its own fish pond and terrapins.

Local tip

It only opens to the public a few hours a week, typically Sunday and some Friday evenings, and free tickets are released online in advance and go quickly, so book as soon as a date is available rather than trying to walk in.
