A 2005 refurbishment gave the pool a stainless steel lining, the first of its kind for an outdoor pool in Britain.

Local tip

It is unheated and open 365 days a year, with a sauna in winter only. On the City of London's price list summer breakfast swims were £5, other summer sessions £8.80 and winter swims £7. Bring your own padlock for the lockers.
